In 2002, a national owner and operator of 1,380 motion picture
screens in the U.S., the U.K., Latin America, and Russia
asked Retriever Waste Management (then Environmental Waste
Solutions) to analyze and review the trash and recycling
plan for 30 of its theaters with multiple waste and recycling
needs. At the time, the company was using various vendors
as a way of handling their national waste and recycling
needs.
The theatre company’s main objective
was to establish a comprehensive program that reduced costs
for current services and equipment without jeopardizing
quality and performance. Because the company had theatres
throughout the US and were looking to streamline their trash
management process, it required the expertise of an experienced
company that offered cost-effective nationwide waste and
recycling management services.
After evaluating the existing trash management
plan for the theatres, Retriever prepared a customized plan
for each of the company’s 30 locations and implemented
a cost-effective waste & recycling program. The program
Retriever developed for was directly responsible for saving
the company over $15,000 a year on service costs alone.
The client, pleased with the cost savings and excellent
customer service provided by Retriever, then contracted
Retriever to develop a similar plan for an additional nine
locations. Cost savings for this second phase exceeded $25,000.
Combined savings for the two programs amounted to 11% of
the client’s annual expenditures for waste removal.
Retriever provided more than just materialized
savings for the client. Retriever also provided one-stop
shopping for all of the waste and recycling needs of the
business, including waste equipment purchases and installations
with an itemized accounting on a consolidated monthly invoice.
In short, Retriever delivered an effective, customized program
for the client and now supports the plan with unwavering
customer service.
